2023National Debating Final The Irish Times National Debating Championship is a debating competition for students in higher education in Ireland. It is sponsored by The Irish Times and has been run since 1960. In 2023, the motion stood as, ‘This house believes that it is time for the citizens of the European Union to directly and democratically elect the president of the European commission.’
A four-page program was created for the debate final. Overall, this paper was inspired by the motion and the historic celebration of EU50. Inspiration was also taken from newspaper design of the 1940’s, and sans-serif typeface was included for a touch of modernism.
